Ruth Robertson, MSc. Appl Psych
Ruth firmly believes that people develop and succeed through focusing on their strengths and talents while being challenged and stretched to be the best they can be. She works alongside clients so that together they can explore what works and what needs to change in a supportive, client focused and results oriented way. Most typically, she works with clients to increase their personal effectiveness at work, resulting in improved performance, work/life balance, effective working relationships and increased levels of confidence and wellbeing.
Ruth's career history spans the fields of Occupational Psychology, Learning and Development and Talent Management within both public and private sector organisations, including a leading global insurance and risk management firm, central government, a flagship local authority, and the professional services sector. She specialises in the application of positive psychology to individuals and organisations and utilises a strengths focused approach to her work with clients. She has coached at a variety of levels, from graduates to board representatives as well as coaching managers, leaders and emerging talent across UK and EMEA contexts around themes which include managing pressure and stress, managing change, leadership and personal transition.
Ruth has an MSc in Industrial and Organisational Psychology, a Bachelor of Education and a Diploma in Teaching. She trained as an executive coach through Results Coaching Systems, The Centre for Coaching and the Centre for Applied Positive Psychology. She is a certified administrator and interpreter of psychometric personality and assessment tools including 16PF, MBTI and ©Strengthscope and is a member of the Association of Coaching, the International Coaching Federation; the British Psychological Society's Special Group of Coaching and is an affiliate member of the CIPD.
